GLAD Publishes New Legal Resource and Tool for Change for Transgender People

On Thursday, May 3rd, Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders (GLAD), officially announced the release of their newest publication, Transgender Family Law: A guide to Effective Advocacy.

The book is a groundbreaking new legal resource on advocacy for transgender clients in family law matters, and a tool for real change for transgender people.

Says editor, Jennifer L. Levi:

“Some of the most heartbreaking stories I have heard in my career as an LGBT legal advocate involve transgender people in family courts. The rights of transgender people – as parents, spouses, and simply as human beings – are often trammeled in family court because of pervasive bias and misunderstanding. This book is a road map for transgender individuals and their attorneys to navigate the family court system in this evolving area of law.”

The book is available online now at Amazon.com, The Author House, and Barnes and Noble, but will also be available for purchase at the official book launch scheduled for May 16th in Boston, MA.
